Loving this start to a pirate’s heist. The way these characters embody themselves while putting on a ruse is delightful.
Especially Ara calling out their temporary captain on the ferry(lol).
It’s sort of sad/fascinating the way Jack’s scars and “gruffness” are perceived by high society, “To the people who lived among these things, he felt that maybe he really could only be understood as a battle-hardened veteran.” Idk I really liked this passage abt how they see him vs how he feels on the inside.
And ah yes, the queer pining! My favorite :3
