The Neverland High Au is an au that began as a tiktok hashtag around 2019. It follows a cast based off of the characters of Peter Pan in a contemporary 80's/90's world. It's a queer coming of age story with nods to the whimsy of Peter Pan but none of the magic (so far). Of course Az and I were determined to make it gay and thus added a gay love interest to play opposite Peter.
In the real world this was one of the first hashtags where we played opposite one another in a romantic sense (before Az and Lou were Az and Lou and were just two gays staring at each other from thousands of miles apart without sharing their feelings) and so it's a very sweet memory. We are determined to treat this sort of project with a lot of care since Peter Pan as an IP is very near and dear to Az' heart. And so we work on this project every now and then but haven't really solidified any one true story line or worked extremely hard to 'make it make sense' or break it away from being a cute and romantic side project. I think you may also laugh at what character Nimbus' is based off of-when and if it's revealed, (and no, it's not baby Dante Basco's Rufio, I mean, look at him, look at this white boy, no, honestly Lou regrets not watching Hook before they named Nimbus Rufio in the Tiktok tag, but hindsight is 20/20). Your clue: Who knows Peter better than anyone and would follow him anywhere?
